14 protestors arrested after blocking entrance to DeSantis’ office

Josa Eve Alvarez, communications coordinator for the Central Florida Jobs with Justice, said there were warning signs last session with the 15-week ban and the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The issues cross several communities in Florida, they said:  women, LGBTQ, trans, teachers, migrant workers, public service employees, Blacks and Hispanics.

A lot of people in the community are asking what they can do even though they are disconcerted and discouraged by what they see, they said.

“They are expressing fear for their loved ones,” Alvarez said.
