Orange County leaders vote to use American Rescue Plan Act to pay off medical debt

Central Florida Jobs With Justice has been asking Orange County leadership to help wipe out medical debt for thousands of people by using money from ARPA, which is provided to governments to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • "It's positive that they're looking at it and it's also in my opinion not so surprising. We've shown very compelling stories from the folks we organize with that this is an issue that really impacts communities," said Tara Felton from the Central Florida Jobs with Justice.
